About the Race

Join us for a Bavarian celebration run in the streets of historic Martin City on October 2 at 8:00am!  The sixth annual event will reward participants with a participant shirt and finishers medal and there will be age group and overall awards for the fastest finishers! You can also add an event mug for just $5! There will be lots of German music and a selection of beers to sample at this fun event.  Sign up today and be part of the fun!

The Race is also part of the Fall Fermentation Series.  The Fall Fermentation Series is three 5K runs in 24 hours on October 1st and 2nd! The Series kicks off on Saturday, October 1 at 8am at the No One Fights Alone 5K at Night Hawk Winery in Paola, KS, continues that afternoon at the Rieger Run at 4pm at the J. Rieger & Co. Distillery in Kansas City, and finishes with the Oktoberfest 5K on Sunday morning, October 2nd at 8am in Martin City!  Find out more by clicking here.

Charity Partner

Proceeds of the 2022 Oktoberfest 5k will benefit The International Dyslexia Association's (IDA) Kansas and Missouri Branch. They are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping teachers, individuals with dyslexia, their families, and the communities that support them. They also offer reading scholarships for students and teacher training scholarships for teachers. IDA actively promotes effective teaching approaches and related clinical research and or/ educational intervention strategies for those with dyslexia. They facilitate the exploration of the causes and early identification of dyslexia and are committed to the responsible and wide dissemination of research-based knowledge. The mission of the Kansas-Missouri branch IDA is to give students with dyslexia a better learning experience through teacher training and scholarships, parent support, and student empowerment. Packet Pickup

Saturday, October 1 from 10am - 2pm at the KC Running Company store at 200 E. 135th Street in Kansas City, MO.  

Sunday October 2nd from 7:30-8:00am at the

Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to help at packet pickup and at the race as course monitors, aid station, and finish line volunteers. Learn more about each volunteer position and register to help out here.

Awards

Age group awards will be given to the top three males and females in the following age groups: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
Overall awards will be given to the top overall male, female and top overall masters male and female finishers.
